Aigo Introduces a New Maemo Based Mid, the Aigo Walkshow NX7001

Aigo has just introduced a new Maemo based MID (mobile internet device). Lately there have not been many Maemo based devices so this addition is welcome. The Walkshow NX7001 is a great addition to the mobile internet device category, it has all of the features you could ever want. On the outside you get a 4.3 inch WVGA resolution display, dual cameras, a speaker, and a few hardware keys. As for the cameras, one is a 2 megapixel used for taking photos and videos and the other is a 0.3 megapixel used for video conferencing. The Walkshow NX7001 also has power with an 806 MHz Marvell processor and 128 MB of RAM. It also has built-in WiFi, 3G, GPS, and bluetooth. As for storage, there is no information on how much internal memory it has but it does have a microSD card slot. The battery is also pretty good at 2600 mAH. The specs of the Walkshow NX7001 are pretty good and so is the Maemo operating system, but since there are not that many devices there are also not that many applications for it. This will eventually lead to the death of the operating system, unless, of course, more devices are introduced to make developers willing to make more applications. The specifications of the Aigo Walkshow NX7001 may be great but the fact that Aigo decided to make it Maemo based is a bummer. There is no word on a release date yet but you can expect to pick up the Aigo Walkshow NX7001 for about $500.
