Kiwi Choice launches U-Powered Portable Solar USB Charger

Kiwi Choice has launched its U-Powered Portable Solar USB Charger. The device is the latest solar charger that has been released in a long time from any company, and seems to have a lot of features to reintroduce to the solar charging market. The U-Powered Solar Charger is a small device that flips out into 3 small solar panels. The device is compatible with most devices, USB powered or not. Engadget has stated that it worked when they tested it with an iPhone but not with an iPad. The U-Power Solar Charger cannot only be charged from the sun, but also from any AC power outlet, car, or USB port. A cool feature of the U-Powered Solar Charger is that it has a 2000 mAh battery which charges when it is plugged in or in the sun. This should give you plenty of charging time for all of your devices. The device can be fully charged in 3.5 - 4.5 hours when it is plugged in or over 17 hours from the sun. The 17 hour charge seems pretty long but I guess that it could be worth it if you are somewhere where there is absolutely no power outlets. I think that the better option would be just to charge it at home and take it along with you. The U-Powered Solar Charger also has a built in flashlight, indicator lights to tell you when it is fully charged or still charging, and a magnet on the back so that you can stick it on anything magnetic. All this will cost you just $50, which is relatively cheap for a solar charger.
