Sylvania Launches 7 Inch Android Tablet To Join The Crowd Of Low Priced, Bargain Tablets

Sylvania has just launched its new "7 Inch MID Tablet" at K-Mart, and while details are limited we do have enough information to say that the Sylvania 7 Inch MID Tablet will be joining the ranks of the Augen Gentouch 78. The details that we do have are that the Sylvania 7 inch tablet will feature a 7 inch touch screen display with a resolution of 800x480, presumably resistive, 512 MB of RAM, 2 GB of flash storage, a front facing camera, WiFi 802.11g, Android 2.1, and a battery life of up to 6 hours. The 2 GB of flash storage can also be expanded via a microSD card slot. The Sylvania 7 inch tablet will also feature 2 mini USB slots and a HDMI output. There is no mention of whether the Android Market will be available, but we think that it's safe to guess that it won't. The Sylvania  "7 Inch MID Tablet" is available now at K-Mart for $180, which makes it a bit overpriced in my opinion. Overall, the Sylvania 7 inch tablet doesn't seem like a great option for any range of the tablet market, as it can't even dream of competing with the iPad or Galaxy Tab, yet it is both worse and more expensive than the Archos range of tablets, which we would highly recommend over the Sylvania 7 inch tablet.
