CherryPal releases $99 netbook, small, slow, sufficient

CherryPal announced today that it has officially released the first $99 netbook. They named it the CherryPal Africa. With a screen size of just 7 inches the CherryPal Africa lets anyone browse the internet at a great price. The CherryPal Africa features a 400 MHz processor, 256 MB of RAM, and 2 GB of flash memory. It also has WiFi 802.11g, USB 2.0 and 1.1 ports, and an SD card reader. It runs Linux or Windows CE. The CherryPal Africa isn't just cheap, it is also very efficient and environmentally friendly. It is designed to have to best battery life possible and has fewer parts than other netbooks so that it can be more efficient. You can expect to get about 4 hours out of the battery. CherryPal calls it small, slow, sufficient. I think that's a very fitting description. The price is great for a netbook with these specifications. I wouldn't say that it's great for power users but it is definitely a step forward. I think that you're getting a good value for the price. You can get the CherryPal Africa now at CherryPal's online store.
