E Fun has just announced their new Next 3 Android Tablet. By now you have probably had more than enough cheap Android tablets than you need for your entire lifetime, and E Fun’s Next 3 isn’t that different from the rest of them. The Next 3 features an 8.4 inch resistive touchscreen display with a resolution of 800x600, the size of which is slightly unusual, and a 600 MHz Rockchip CPU, which is underpowered and will probably cause the operating system to lag slightly. The E Fun Next 3 also features WiFi 802.11g and Android 2.1, which isn’t as outdated as the Sharp IS01 Android 1.6 mobile internet device that we looked at recently, but still isn’t the latest and greatest version of Android. The Next 3 will also come pre-loaded with the Borders E-Book store, and this along with the look of the device and the press release lead us to think that it will be primarily marketed as an E-book reader apart from an Android tablet, although it will work perfectly as an Android tablet as well. Some other features of the E Fun Next 3 are the built in speakers, 2 GB of built in flash storage, and a microSD card slot for expanding your storage. The E Fun Next 3 is available now at the Home Shopping Network and some retailers for just $230, and also comes with a case.
