Your GPS signal will soon be getting a lot more accurate. Most of the currents GPS satellites are getting very old an inaccurate. The US Air Force is now planning to replace all of the 24 GPS satellites in space now with new ones. They are planning to make the accuracy of GPS signals within an arm’s length, when they are currently around 20 feet. I don’t really think that they will be able to do this, the difference between 20 feet and an arm’s length is a lot, but it could happen. This would make it possible to actually get good walking directions, and you could actually find exactly where your location is, instead of all the way on the other side of the street. The world relies on GPS, but people take it for granted. People think that it just works, when it has to be maintained regularly. The massive overhaul is behind schedule 3 years, but $8 billion has been set aside for the upgrade and all of the satellites will be replaced within 10 years. With the new GPS upgrade everything that uses GPS will get a lot faster and a lot more accurate.
