Those XBox Live Gold subscribers out there might want to renew their subscriptions soon, as a price increase is coming. According to a recent post on Major Nelson's blog, a price increase to XBox Live Gold will be coming on November first. After 8 years of constant XBox Live pricing there will finally be a price hike. The $50 XBox Live Gold yearly subscription will be going from $50 to $60, the three month subscription will be going from $20 to $25, and last but not least the one month subscription will be going for $10 versus the current $8. These price hikes aren't major, but that doesn't mean that they are going unnoticed. Microsoft is also running a deal right now which will allow you to lock in your rate for a year for just $40, which is less than both the new and old rates. For more info visit their deal website. So, how do you feel about the price changes?
This November Microsoft will be releasing a family option for X-Box Live Gold Subscribers. X-Box Live Gold is a ton better than the free Silver version, even if you do have to pay for it. X-Box Live Gold lets you play online multiplayer, gives you access to demos, and much more. The family package would include four X-Box Live Gold Accounts for just $99 per year. This brings down the $40 per year cost for an X-Box Live Gold account down to $25. The primary account of the four would be able to distribute Microsoft Points to the other three accounts and monitor gaming activities. The accounts could also be split across multiple consoles if they were in the same country. The pricing on the family pack is great, so it will probably be a great option for families. This package will be releasing in November, just in time for all of your holiday shopping.
